Below we have outlined the components of social innovation to answer these questions. This is the foundation on which the book is built.

As illustrated above, there are many views on the words within, as well as the concept of, social innovation. In this book we will not highlight a specific definition as more relevant or better than others. The bright minds that have created definitions before us have done a good job, and we’ve found inspiration in all of them. We encourage you to do the same.

What we found was lacking, however, was a way to bridge them. In our perception, for it to best serve its purpose – to improve the conditions for life – one must seek to create it at every turn of the road. It’s our goal to make you, the reader, feel that this is not such an amazing task, but something we can all contribute to, first and foremost by trying.
